I actually had someone who was trying to schedule an appointment next week express surprise (almost shock) that I was going to be open for business on Tuesday (the inauguration). Could have knocked me over with a feather as I tried to wipe the WTF????:wow: Look off my face.

I'll allow you all to draw your own conclusions...

Some people are trying to treat this historic event like a damn holiday. Some people have Obama Mania. They need to understand that he does NOT walk on water.
Its bad enough that some places are not open on Monday.
They say that they want to help the ecomomy, Most people that can't work on a holiday won't get paid. This will squeze us more. A missing day in my week hurts. I really don't need 2.
Guess that guy would go into orbit knowing I'll be drivng on Monday!

We better work on Tuesday, who do they expect to pay for this mess? I heard a rumor that it is costing Baltimore $15,000,000 for the heightened security for the inauguration and related security. I think there may be a big 'party' in Baltimore...

Historically, all government offices in Northern VA have been closed on innaguration day. I believe it started with the Reagan administration and was only to alleviate some of the traffic disasters that happen from Fredricksburg north on a daily basis. The only difference this year is it is being touted by the liberal media as a special occassion because President elect Obama is black. No more, no less.

I'm a locksmith. Crime doesn't stop on Holidays.....especially federal ones. I'll be working on MLK's B-day and Tuesday( it hadn't occured to me many may not be working). Our company does, however, mainly work for commercial buildings and the City of Seattle, so they're all gone and we try to either get caught up on jobs ......if the customers are there.

On duty Tuesday 0600 till 0600 Wednesday. Business as usual but given my juridsictions demographics we'll likely be slow until all of the celebrating with firearms begins. Gotta love the 40oz drinkin' gun-totin' Obama supporters..

Dave Chapel (sp?), the comedian, would have a hayday on a skit about this. Remember the reparations skit? Wonder what he's doing now.

I am working today even though it is Robert E. Lee's birthday and Confederate Soldier day in Texas. I must admit it was hard to come back from the lake yesterday when it was 60+ and sunny! Sure am glad I live in the South. More boating time.

It's funny - My aunt and uncle expressed horror at my cousin sleeping in today after a concert last night (good for them) but are letting the kids stay home on Tuesday - and they see no conflict there.

How sad...
