In post #6, his pump looks shot, wear plate on the cover isn't going to fix the wear on the pump body that's clearly visible.
i will replace the pump but it too was replaced not so long ago.. dont see the wear you describe. otherwise no deviation in shaft from bearings, appeared to be in goo shape...

Looks like score marks to me, but your closer to it than I am.
Do that water volume test that Lazy suggested. It's all about water in and water out. But your low psi numbers suggest intake side.
I had my friends at Quantico enhance the digital image to clearly show what I believe is scoring. There is also a picture of the new pump body for comparison.

thats some good stuff ya got there 420... yes i saw that scoring but it is nominal. the heavier scored "other" side...when replaced provided no change in psi.. hard to believe that bit of scoring is causing low psi or flow by short circuiting... but im open to any ideas.. not going to replace that expensive part yet, its not that old...

as i understand... generally blockage will create a high pressure on the pump side, low on the opposite..

True, but what if your blockage is after the raw water pump and before the pressure sensor.......

You will have low pressure readings.

Low readings don’t always mean the blockage is before the pump.

Just means the blockage is before the pressure sensor.

Agree - looks like scoring. If you can feel it with your fingernail, it's too much. From the pictures, it looks like too much.

good morning...

i have not had the chance to do the pump test (i trailer the boat and prefer to test in water, cant stop enjoying the boat to do so) and have not flushed with barnacle buster (or the like). last weekend out, only traveled at idle speed in the Homosassa River in FL. ....even with long 1000 rpm rides she stays at 156-158 with the 140 thermo...

going to try Sunday for pump flow test...

didt get to do the pump testing this past weekend... but...
the pump may be close to bearing failure, upon inspecting while running, potentially it was making noise and appeared to look like it was not smoothly rotating..?
decided F it and ordered a new raw pump... will get Friday and report from weekend..
