This year on my birthday, I was washing some things next to the boat on the finger pier. I heard a boat leaving the dock one row over and turned to watch them leave their slip. The next thing I knew, I was stepping into the corner of the slip next to me. As I was falling I thought to push off and went out a little ways. The admiral heard a splash and came up to see what was going on, and helped get out of the water. You don't realize how high off the water a floating dock is.

Luckily the slip was empty, or I would have hit the prop on the 150 Yammy on the boat in the slip next to me now.

We were docking at Put-In-Bay and my poor wife fell between the dock and pier. She got scraped up pretty bad on the seawall.

I have to write about this one - it didn't happen to me but to a fellow marina friend's wife. The have a sailboat and she was up on the bow reaching for the line when she slipped. She didn't fall in the water. She grapped the pylon by wrapping her arms and legs around it. Then due to the lack of strength she started sliding down the pole. She was wearing only a swimsuit. Needless to say - Arms, Legs and stomach and other areas where riddled with splinters. Not sure why she wouldn't let go but she didn't.
