I can't comment on that, but I don't see why it wouldn't be. I even use the 15-40 in mowers, my Honda genny, and my Ford Ranger.

I used 15W-40 in my old motors with Lucas Oil Stabilizer and it worked well. I use the recommended Mercury Brand 25W-40 synthetic in the new motors, and I added the Lucas Oil Stabilizer in the oil change just before the boat came out of the water at the end of last season. I'm not sure if the additive helps or not, but I don't think it hurts.

So I fixed the loose helm seat today. Plugged in all of the electronics, checked out ok. Both motors fired off, and the genny. The battery charger is not charging and hummmmms loud. The windlass did not work, thought I had it fixed 2 weeks ago. I unbolted it and I can't get it free from underneath. Try more tomorrow I guess.

Any input for a replacement charger?

Got my fresh water system leak fixed and the water heater checked out yesterday. Also fixed a issue I was having last season with my water vent, a mud wasp had built himself a nice home. Ordered new oil filters and picked up the oil from Walmart, that will be next weekends fun. I still need to get my oil cooling unit replaced or repaired, it's still leaking water under my port engine. As soon as Caitlin is better and more self sufficient I'm gonna need to go out to TN. Seems like there's a hundred small things to do but I guess that's how the start of a new season is.

Someone had some great pics and details on removing the old windlass and pulpit and then installing a new V700 windlass? I can't find the pics...

I am looking at the unpleasant and unhealthy task of sanding the bottom of my boat to fair it out for the new paint color. It looks pretty caked on from the previous owner. It's also super soft paint and I am worried about adhesion. I'm curious about having it sand/soda blasted off. Can anyone give me a ballpark figure on how much that would cost? I really have no idea what people charge for that kind of work, but if it were not too bad I might as well go for it.

There is a company here in CT that does soda blasting. I was quoted $35 a foot. That was for the 220DA. Bigger boats the price goes down. Most of the labor is preparing the tent around the boat to catch all of the dust. The blasting process is fairly quick. I didn't have it done but a few boats next door at the other marina have had it done.

I had it done to my old 31 footer. That's was 5 years ago and it cost me $750.

It was worth every penny! The old non-ablative was caked on. Sanding would have taken forever and been extremely time consuming.
