1995 Signature 220 Complete Restoration. Come see the Horror.

Hey guys,

I have been away for a while working on my epic project. Some of you may remember that I drove to SC from Texas to pick up a Cherry 220 back around Christmas time. Well it turns out I got really screwed and I let the allure of a pretty woman cloud my judgement. The boat was so pretty and handled so well on the lake, that I just did not check out the deck like I should have. The Deck had even been replaced two years ago, and I took the guy at his word. Well the deck was not sealed properly or just put down to hide the rotten stringers, because the whole boat is rotten. I have spent the past few months stripping her down and planning how the rebuild will go, and the fun is really starting.

My main thread is on iboats.com, and I wish I had the energy to do the updates here too, but I don't. I am actually doing a video blog also, and I think you guys might want to follow along.

Your videos have been awesome. I also enjoyed watching the Polaris rebuild. Sorry for all the c*** you have endured but thanks for sharing.

Great video! Sorry need to be doing it but I can tell you this has made me aware of what to be looking for when buying a used boat. I'm getting ready to purchase and I made sure the surveyor will have a moisture detector with fresh batteries. Good luck.......keep the camera running.

This boat deserves an owner like you. It's great that you can do all the work, but as you've learned this is why so many of us recommend a thorough survey before purchase. I bought a '95 220OV new back in the day and it was the original Nehalennia. I loved that boat. You're doing a great job with the restoration. What was the previous owners reaction when you told him he sold you a sponge?

The PO was really no help. He has a new deck put in two years ago, and so he honestly thought it was ok. I think he got taken by his shop.
