Was it the name on the elastic band that put it over the top? Just trying to establish a baseline.

LOL  I think the baseline is below the gutter!!

OMG I haven't laughed this hard in a long time! Thank you so much!!:smt043:smt043:smt043

In doing some research on hypothermia, I ran across this work:

http://www.coldwaterbootcamp.com

Some of the information and videos are pretty eye opening... Some of you know I'm a stickler with regards to wearing life jackets and if you look that site over, you may be too...

Click on the "Boot Campers" link.... Watch Eric try to put on a life jacket...
This guy reminds me of my Father. Smart and doesn't miss a thing. Bit of a :smt013:smt013buster however. Got to admit, gives some stuff to take a long look into. Makes one think.
Nice

I have a 5:1 block and tackle that lifesling makes for powerboats. It's got a big mountain climber type of clip on the end that can hook there. That hoisting point avoids the rails as well.
Am I seeing this right? The lift block hooks to the rail. The Block rides on that rail from the side to over the deck? Kind of like swinging meat in an old style butcher shop? If this is so you may be worse then my Dad. I'm impressed.

I'm certified in cold water rescue and we are getting ready for our annual refresher. One of the fun little classroom drills we use is to fill a 5 gal bucket with ice and water and put a few quarters at the bottom. Have your victim/rescuer put their hand in the bucket up to their elbow and try to hold it there for as long as possible or 5 minutes whichever comes first. Then have them try to pick up the quarters at the bottom.. it is a great demonstration on how quickly dexterity becomes severely impaired. Our practical drills are spent on a frozen lake with the Mustang Suits.. loads of fun. If you get a chance google the video footage of the Flight 90 crash into the Potomac, I'm not 100% sure how much is online but there is a produced video we use for training with tons of footage... how some of those survivors lasted as long as they did in that water is astonishing.

I know we have some pilots here but by all indications an amazing display of skill to land that plane on the water so smoothly and keeping the plane intact allowing time for everyone to escape. There are some reports that many of the passengers didn't even get their feet wet as they walked out of the plane, onto the wing, and stepped right on to waiting ferries, police boats etc...
