Hello there. I have the OEM latch with the spring loaded recessed bolt but the magnet in the door frame is missing. Anyone familiar? Can someone take a picture of the door frame with the magnet piece installed so I know exactly what I’m looking for? Looking for just the magnet piece that screws into the door frame. Anyone have any idea where to source one? I tried ALL the national parts houses but it is a discontinued part. Looking to buy one. Used is fine. Thanks for any guidance. Kevin

Contact Southco directly - maybe they can help.

I meant I tried them. Not able to help… Discontinued part so I called FP Marine. They took my info. and said they get back to me. I need a picture to at least get an idea of what it looks and dimensions would really help. There was nothing in the hole in the door frame where the magnet mounts. Most people probably just tossed the latch and are using the type with a striker. Magnetic latch seems like a strange design…The striker design latches are readily available. I want to remain oem. Thanks

Shoot. I thought Southco could at least give you some dimensional drawings that might show the magnet. Then you could try a place like K&J Magnetics

Does anyone have this system that they could take a picture for me? I’d like to see the door frame and what the magnet looks like, and would really appreciate measuring between the mounting screws

Treasure Island Marina in Panama City Beach ordered one for me last year. Complete handle assembly was about $170 I believe. I was going there on vacation so was able to pick up once I got there, but I believe they would have shipped it for the extra cost.

You found a part number for just the magnet? I'm still wondering why Southco couldn't have gotten that for you. Oh well, glad you got it sorted.

I believe Southco made them for SeaRay but they told me the part is obsolete now. They told me to contact other retailers to see if someone had one in their inventory. They didn’t give me the part number either- at least the parts person I talked to didn’t have it nor could find it. Finally a gentleman at Boatoutfitters spent about a half hour on the phone with me researching the oem part number and found it somewhere. Then I called several places to no avail, then finally found it on Amazon, sold by Great Lakes Skipper! It’s not easy being anal ‍♂
