These aren't from Labor Day but we took a drive (340 miles round trip) to Cooper Lake which is up in the Cascades near where Tina grew up. Neither of us had been there before but you can bet we'll go back.

There's a large fire burning in the hills between Ellensberg and Yakima. We took this shot on the way home. The fire last night was at 52,000 acres and was threatening 900 homes.
This is a thermal image of the fire, taken last night. The photo we took was of the eastern most area of the fire, just as it was topping that ridge.
It's amazing to see the two opposites in such close proximity to each other. The distance between Coooper Lake and the fire is about 45 miles.
