These aren't from Labor Day but we took a drive (340 miles round trip) to Cooper Lake which is up in the Cascades near where Tina grew up. Neither of us had been there before but you can bet we'll go back.

Here's Cooper Lake from the east side looking north...

The Cle Elum river drains from Cooper Lake. Here's a shot of where the river flows out of the lake...

And another shot looking downstream...

There's a large fire burning in the hills between Ellensberg and Yakima. We took this shot on the way home. The fire last night was at 52,000 acres and was threatening 900 homes.

This is a thermal image of the fire, taken last night. The photo we took was of the eastern most area of the fire, just as it was topping that ridge.

It's amazing to see the two opposites in such close proximity to each other. The distance between Coooper Lake and the fire is about 45 miles.

Little man just starting his weekend by plotting a course

I’ll also add that letting him hit buttons on the plotter is the only way we can keep him from wanting to “start the Diesel engines”

the first time he saw the engine room he yelled out “TRACTOR ENGINES!”
