I received emails from several marinas which are taking reservations starting July 1.
Received one from Green Turtle Club today.


Announcement From The Prime Minister



Prime Minister Minnis has announced that they are hopeful to resume commercial travel in the country on or before July 1st. We are thrilled at the prospect of welcoming you back when you are ready to travel. We wanted to let our guests know of this announcement due to decreased availability of rooms and marina slips in Abaco. If you would like to visit Green Turtle Cay this Summer, we highly recommend calling us now to make a reservation.

Tom, highbourne took our June reservation and palm cay also that’s why I’m asking
We’re told by someone June 15 th so we’re keeping our fingers crossed.

I saw Delta was beginning flights to Nassau on June 15...

As summer approaches, it’s prime time to reserve your slip as we are eagerly preparing for your return to Bimini Bay Marina. We are tentatively scheduled to reopen July 1st, and we look forward to a lively summer season here in beautiful Bimini!

The Bahamas’ pristine beaches and crystal clear waters have always provided a welcome retreat for those seeking to leave busy city life behind and immerse themselves in nature. There’s no better environment to safely enjoy summer weekends and holidays with your friends and family, as you disconnect from the world and reconnect with our tropical paradise and each-other.








Be sure to book your marina slips as soon as possible to ensure your spot, as we anticipate busy summer days ahead. We can’t wait to welcome you back soon!



In order to maintain the health and safety of our employees and our guests, the Marina will be adhering to strict COVID-19 protocols. The following safety measures will be implemented upon reopening:


· All marina employees will be entering into a COVID-19 training program designed to educate the team on how to take care of themselves, properly manage guests and ensure safety


· Face masks and gloves will be used


· Employee temperature/health checks will occur daily


· Those who have completed the training will wear an arm band visible to all guests

Awesome..... We are scheduled to leave on the 28th of June to spend the month in the Bahamas. We will stop in the Keys for a couple days and then to the Berries. From there we will work our way to the Exumas working our way down to Staniel and then work our way back up and head over to Harbor Island...... Can’t wait also....

I haven’t checked yet but if the Berries don’t have fuel I can make it to Nassau which will certainly have fuel. Overall I don’t believe fuel is problem.

Plan is to get fuel in Great Harbor, Berries, then I top off at Palm Cay Marina on the south east end of Nassau. They usually have very competitive fuel prices. That’s my jump off point to the Exumas. Once we are in the Exumas, we usually slow cruise between anchorages and/or marinas so we have plenty of fuel to get back to Nassau or in this case we will be heading to Harbor Island and will fuel up at St. George’s Cay Power Station which is the cheapest fuel in the Bahamas...

It sounds like you are coming in through West End then Freeport and down through the Berry's. Last time in the marina at Great Harbor (three years ago) it was in very poor shape but they had fuel at the fuel dock just in from the channel. Careful around that fuel dock as it's very shallow just north of it. Chubb is a great marina and about 40 miles from Great Harbor; they will have fuel. You could fuel in Freeport then Chubb if Great Harbor is out... We've spent four days on the inside of the Berry's and just loved it. Diving in the Blue Hole at Hoffmans Cay is a must. Down further in the Berry's at Little Harbour Cay is Flo's Conch Bar; ya gotta call well ahead but a great place for fried conch and fritters and their specialty drink. About the most remote restaurant on the face of the earth....

Thanks Tom...... Actually we are going down thru the keys and up to no name harbor on Key Biscayne. We prefer to hang out in the Keys if we need to wait for favorable weather to make the crossing. We are on the west coast of Florida. And Yes, we have been to the Berries many times and have enjoyed a meal at Flo’s and exploring the various anchorages. I agree with your assessment of Great Harbor Marina. We were there again last July. It’s a shame because it has such potential. I’m sure it was nice in its heyday when the pool and restaurant were functioning. We still enjoy a day or two there. We take the tender thru shark creek to the other side and enjoy the beach and lunch at the beach bar. There’s also a real nice restaurant at the Carriearl Boutique Hotel on the beach. They have a shuttle service as well and will pick you up at the marina.
Chub is nice but there fuel prices are high. We were suppose to do this trip in April and at that time I called they were $5.62/gallon. Ouch! Palm Cay Marina at that time was $4.28/gal. I’m a cheap bastard when it comes to fuel!

Ouch is right! I don't remember it that high....

That will be a great trip - We made essentially the same run in November
