We have a 2006, 44 sedan fly bridge- I am debating exchanging my CQR to. Rockna anchor, has anyone done this and if so, what size? I am looking at the 55 lb. One.

Rocna was a well respected anchor until it moved manufacturing to China and, reportedly because of a change in the metal used, the shanks started bending. http://www.zentozero.com/2013/02/rocna-anchor-bent-shank.html

I have had a 35# Manson Boss on the boat for 3 years. Sets well in the sand and the mud we have here. Have not had problems with it resetting. All chain rode. I installed a Rocna after losing my Delta from a failed swivel a few years ago. No comparison. The Rocna sets first time every time and stays set with less scope, which is handy in crowded anchorages. I anchor in predominantly sand and sand/weed.
It also fits perfectly in the anchor chute as it has the same/similar shank profile as the Delta. It also rights itself every time when it is pulled into the chute, which the Delta did not always do and had to be dropped again to rotate.
I've teamed up the Rocna with a Mantus swivel and am very happy and pleased with both of these products.
I also read the quality control issues, but have not experienced any issues yet, so I wonder if it was a bad batch.

I have Rockna and as stated, never an issue. It buries quickly and holds well. We spend quite a few nights on the hook and never an issue.

According to some members, the 25 kg (55 lb) fits well in the bow roller. Check out post # 1611 in the 420/44DB thread.
I have the 33 kg and it’s a tight fit that required a little modifying but I love it. FWIW It always self rights, I do not use a swivel.

55# is a perfect fit, I switched to the 73# also because I got a great deal. Also had to do a slight bit of grinding at Marks advice. Love it!

I just installed the 25kg Rocna last weekend. It fits my bow roller just barely as the topside of the shank does come into contact with the pulpit a tiny bit. But it is otherwise very secure and a snug fit. I use the larger Suncor swivel in the below link, which i also had the smaller one on my last boat.

I got rid of my CQR years ago. Horrible holding in mud and difficult to set. I bought an Ultra Anchor. It's the best anchor I've ever had.

We have the Rocna 25 kg (55 lb) on a 390 Motor Yacht. Works great, quickly and holds. Fits tightly into the bow roller but not quite perfectly as mentioned above. But it is secure and does not move.
The test video cited above was done with a scope of 3.5 to 1 which may be why the fouled anchor would not reset. I use a scope of 7:1 for other than a lunch time stop.
