My generator 4.2 BCG. if I stop holding the start bottom it instantly goes off
I don’t know if it is one of the three safety valves or if it it is the solenoid choke or the actuator
There is any way to know which one?
Thank you

Which start button? The remote in the cabin or on the generator? If the generator, then be sure the solenoid in the cabin must be flipped on first. Otherwise the geny will start at the geny but as soon as you let go of the starter it will die.

LG just beat me to the question, you have two stations from which to start the gen. Which station are you using?

Another thing, have you check to oil in the motor? Low oil will shut her down fast. She will start and stop. It has a low oil sending unit. Mine uses 30W.

Water flow, check the strainer and back flush if possible. Impeller on mine is easy to get to and to see it done Ytube was great.

Tuneup may be in order, it's very easy and you can do it.

Remember anything painted Westerbeke Red costs way over what it should. With a little time and some cross referencing you can save yourself a good bit.

Any additional info would be greatly helpful.

Thank for your help I did most of the points recommended by you guys. Finally I was able to keep running my generator without holding the start button.
It was the high exhaust temperature sensor.
But now I have another problem it’s running but no power is generating
Any advise is appreciated.
Thank you
Isaac
