I'm interested in knowing how many 360 DA owners are on CSR, in case I want to direct questions your way using PMs. I am aware of Two Peas, PMvdb395DA (Peter), My3Sons and BOZ. Any others? Is there enough of us for an "official 360 thread"?

Thanks all. Survey is a week from Thursday so if all goes well we will be backing into a slip before the first weekend in August. We have a water front restaurant here that has a long pier into the bay with nothing around it on both sides. We have already decided this will be our practice dock.
We have no currents to deal with and typical tides in our area are less than 2 feet so wind is all we usually have to deal with.

Guys, I think I have seen that Glomex amplifier on my boat before but it was so long ago, it may have actually been on a different boat while I was still shopping.
I have cable in my aft locker (lazarette in the sailing world) and a splitter behind the TV above the galley sink. It must be there (I think) in order to switch between dock cable and Glomex antenna.
Does anybody on this 360 thread have the Glomex amp? If so, where is it?

Anyone know why the fuel level sensor would be extremely inaccurate. It shows I am using twice as much gas on stbd as I am on port. Topping the tanks off I find it is within a few gallons.

Thanks, found it, right where you said it would be! The LED does not light up even with ALL 12 volt breakers turned on. My goal here is to see if I can get any local channels for the evening weather report, not really a big TV fan. I've heard rumors that the Glomex can pickup the HD signals but I imagine that Amp needs to at least be functional.

Mine does the same thing but on the port side. At first I thought it was actually using more but after a few times of checking it the way you did (by monitoring the amounts filled in each tank), I see that they are using the same amounts on each side. Generator pulls from the starboard tank, but not at the rate you are seeing.
Smartcraft Vessel View shows about the same amounts as the analog gauges (for me) so I expect it is the fuel float / sensor / sending unit that is somewhat faulty. Mine seems to get a little better as the season progresses.

I just started using my Glomax. Had cable at my last marina. I am in Rock Hall and pick up about 25 digital channels out of Baltimore. I am impressed with its performance

Is yours the one that came with your boat or a newer Glomax with the shark fin on top? Have you messed with the amplifier at all? (i.e. turning it to shore when on cable and turning it clockwise when on antenna) Does your LED light up?

Yes, mine is the original one. The light only comes on in one direction but can't remember if it the cable setting or the antenna setting. I had to have the TV scan for channels and one of the TV's i had wouldn't pick up any channels

Are you using the tube TVs that came with the boat or upgraded LEDs? I was just going to post this question about the antenna to is if the one original with the boat worked for the new digital over the air broadcast. Just putting together a list of things we will need to upgrade when we get the boat and wasn't sure if new TV antenna was one of them. We plan to replace both tube TVs but that will probably be an over the winter upgrade.

I'm using new flat screens, but for some reason one of them wouldn't pick up any channels when scanning for them. The Glomax antenna is original to the boat.

I had the same problem. What I discovered is that the flat screens onboard were replacements for the OEM CRT TVs but they were replaced prior to the FCC digital mandate. I bought a digital converter box at Walmart and found 23 channels

Has anyone installed a radar on their 360DA? We are pulling our Simrad 3G off our current boat to install on our 360 once we own it. It looked like the arch has easy access assuming the oval on the bottom of the arch comes off, but what about pulling the cable forward. We did the install on our 30' Doral so I am guessing the 360DA has even more room. Just trying to decide if this is a DIY project or if we should find an installer. I am also guessing access to mount the display is OK also assuming a panel comes off someplace in the cabin. Looked at the Sea Ray manuals online, but don't see anything about access. Going to hate giving up our 12" display, but I see no way to fit anything bigger than 9" in the dash on the 360.
Radar is a must for us as we regularly find ourselves on the water after sunset.

You will need a fish tape. Remove the panel on the underside of the arch. Remove the panels next to the bench seat and the panel next to the captains chair. There are openings to route cabling. If you are even remotely handy the radar project should be a no brainer as long as you are installing a pre-configured system

Thanks. I have a fish tape so that part should be easy. I have not bought the new display yet, but am leaning toward the Lowrance Carbon HDS9 (Simrad NSS9 still in play but I don't think it will fit since it is 11.3"). The interface should be straight forward to the Simrad 3G radar and the rate sensor since Lowrance and Simrad seem to be compatible. On my last install in the Doral the hardest part was finding a good, accessible, place to mount the rate sensor.

Went on a test ride today on the 2003 360DA we are buying. Survey is Thursday. Great short ride until we get an engine alarm. Was running about 3000 rpm, tabs down, 5 people on board with 1/2 tank of fuel. The alarm was an "Engine Limit Alarm" on the port engine. Dropping the RPM and the alarm goes away. The Smartcraft SC5000 display is barely readable so while we could see the large alarm digits, there was no way to go to a screen to see any detail.
Two questions, 1) any guess on the possible causes for the alarm, 2) Can the Smartcraft display be upgraded to Vessel View with just a display change?

Boat has been meticulously maintained and and was just in the yard for a month for new bottom paint, shaft seals, shaft laser alignment and prop tuning. Current owner said he ran it at wide open throttle on the way back from the yard to see how it ran with tuned props and he had no issues. Since then he has changed manifolds and done oil changes but not run the boat.

Seems odd that it needed manifolds and oil changes right after bottom paint, prop tune, shaft seals, shaft laser alignment and a good WOT run.

The only way I am aware of to get the details of why the port engine dropped into guardian mode is to connect a lap top computer to it with Mercury software and read the error. I had this happen once and it turned out to be loose battery cables. Any number of problems from low oil pressure or water pressure to a heat problem. I am no mechanic but I would maybe make it a condition of the sale to have the memory of that engine downloaded and printed off. Might also have a compression test done. I went through all of the same experience with a bad engine. Two different mechanics and $8000 later I have a solid 360. Tough lesson

Current owner has a mechanic coming to read the codes and figure out what went wrong today. I was just trying to guess what it might be. I looked at temps and oil pressure when the alarm went off and they were both good. We spent some time trying to figure it out, but all we could repeat was that we got an alarm when we pushed RPM above 3200, as soon as we came back on RPM the alarm went away.
Boat didn't need manifolds. Current owner changed them on a regular time schedule, not based on use. They were just due based on his schedule. He said when he pulled them they didn't show any signs of wear. They probably only had 200 hours on them over 5 years and he fresh water flushes after every use.
I am just hoping the engine issue is minor, I know the current owner will address it either way as he has worked hard to have the boat be mechanically sound before he sells it. We are really hoping this all works out as this is a very lightly used boat. It is a 2003 that has never been over nighted on and only has 50 hours on the generator.
