Put up the bimini top for the first time and found the zipper track on the radar arch has broken pieces. Tried to remove it but had difficulty. Any tricks out there for removing the zipper track off the radar arch?

The glued track or the the rope and 1/2 zipper combo sandwiched in the middle. For the sandwich zipper start at one end- like at the botom of the arch- pull the end away from the arch and the rest should come out. For the glued part good luck- it's glued.

I had the same problem. I recently bought new zippers and canvas from Great Lakes Boat Top. To get the old stuck zipper off the arch, I pried out the zipper at the top middle as there was a gap there. I then pulled the zipper thru the track and down both sides. The track stayed in place. Everything OK and life is good.

The zipper slides in the track. If the zipper does not slide out, there may be a screw (or screws) securing the zipper in the track. On my 280 there was one screw at what appeared to be the center top of the track. They screwed right through the opening so you have to look carefully to find it.

Thanks for all the feedback. I'll look for the screws, it did seem like it was "locked" in place as it had play but wouldn't slide out.

Do the zippers match up to the zippers on the canvas when you get them from Great Lakes? I need to purchase some before spring.

Sorry to bring this back but is the only place to get the zipper rope Great Lakes?

You can buy the pieces from Sailrite but you have to sew it all together. Here is a link to the Awning Rope and you would need to determine the size of the zipper and can order it from Sailrite as well. Double check this is the correct size. I looked at doing this a couple years ago but I think the Awning Rope was not wide enough. This will get you started though. In the end I just ordered mine form Great Lakes. I think they were about $70 each. http://www.sailrite.com/Keder-Awning-Rope-Tape

I replaced both of mine through GL's and they were perfect fits. I think the front "valance" as they call it is a little more expensive than the back one. $70-$100 each and you're done.

Mine used to fit perfectly, but the front canvas bimini has shrunk/gotten tighter the last two seasons and started to pull up the glued track. Anyone have a good way to secure the track back down, or to secure it more so that the stretching tension on the front bimini wont continue to pull it up further? For now I've just gone with the snaps only and left the zippers unzipped.

Search the web for EZ-Xtend Boat Track. The website is a long one so I won't hyperlink it here. The site name is canvas boat cover and repair advisor.

Thank you gentlemen, I assumed these were part of the whole canvas. It is nice to know I can replace them without buying it all. I also do like the add-a-zipper idea.
