I must say you electrician guys surely have your "tricks or trade secrets" but there is nothing, nothing, like having the correct tool for the job regardless of the cost!

"Flush cut jaws provide clean cuts across a full range of cable tie sizes—extra small to extra large—eliminating painful edges on wire bundles and other components secured by cable ties"

$77. Damn. I'll use my existing lineman pliers vs sending my local Snap On reps kids to college... just gotta hide from @wyrman.

As they say...quality isn't expensive, it's priceless :D

I suspect harbor freight has something similar so you can have some money leftover for fuel in the tank.

I know some will disagree with me, but, lineman pliers are the correct tool. :)
You can use them to tighten the tie wrap, then twist them off. Quick and easy, one tool does it all.

I didn't know the line man's trick but I'm willing to try it out. I thought it was a right of passage to always come up from the bilge with scrapes all over!!

If you think lineman pliers is going to stop the bleeding….. you don’t deserve bandaids ….. all they are doing is getting @firecadet613 to buy something else

I can't even look in the bilge without bleeding. The hose clamps get me. Some have a plastic cover over the end, but not all of them.

Agree on the hose clamps! That's my other big issue. I have the red ends that I put on, but they never stay.....It's a jungle down there!

Ha ha, bleeding. I am now literally thin skinned. When I was younger I was "yeah, right..." It's true. I can be doing something in the garage and inadvertently bump something with my arm and continue doing what I was doing. Then I look down at the floor and my arm and I look like I've been attacked by the slasher.

Use simple wire cutters flat across the lock. No thought or effort involved ...

Swap over to t-bolts, then the slight cut turns into a gash ...
