Pulled my boat the other day and need new zincs.
Does anyone know of a web site for original Merc Cruiser zincs?

Thanks

Thanks Peter,

I guess all zincs are not equal. There is a zinc on the web site that shows a cost of $2.25. I had my son check out our local MerCruiser store and they wanted $17.85 for the same item.

What gives??

The store STHIL recommends is good ... make sure to go for the aluminum set on B3 drives, even if you're in saltwater. They are more active than zinc and what Merc installs from the factory.
Martyr is another great brand.
In freshwater I would go with Magnesium anodes without a doubt!!

i've bought a ton of stuff from boatzincs.com. it's not OEM - usually the canadian equivalent (martyr?). they sell the same stuff at west marine, but for probably 40% mo' money. even with the shipping (and zincs can get heavy) it is way less expensive from these guys.

keep following this thread and the purists will chime in. i have had no reason to subscribe to the theory that only merc zincs should be used.

Another vote for boatzincs.com. Great people, very prompt service.
FYI, I also purchased their silver/silver chorlide electrode to do some galvanic corrosion diagnosis on our B3 and it also works very well.

Best regards,

Jim

boatzincs.com all the way. You call and you get the owner, he's very insightful and can answer any questions. Great prices and fast shipping.

I usually buy the 'Merc' kit, but as I recall the last set was stamped 'CAMP' - Canadian Alloy Metal Products or something like that. Merc prolly outsources to the lowest bidder.

On my last set of magnesium annodes there was a maple leaf
stamped on them. They came out of a Mercruiser box.

I just checked out boatzincs.com and plan to give them a try.
