Zincs, quick silver anti corrsion kits

I have a 1987 300DA with mercruser IO's. I am having problems getting the right numbers for all the zincs needed for the engines and for the out drives. when the mechanics changed them out, they didn't put the part numbers and i can't find any info for these. I am in salt water.

What zincs do you have on your engines? My 89 has none. My boat has Mercathodes so no block zinc on the OD. All I have are the two trim ram zincs and the round zinc plate that fits above the props. My tabs have 3" rudder zincs on them and also a BNT-1 tab zinc. Just go to a marine store or WM etc and ask somebody, they can find what you want. I've never bothered with part numbers.

Hi, ok sounds good, yea last night i found a place on line that sells it for the out drives in a kit at boatzincs.com . so if the Mercathodes are working, you don't need the block zinc?

Right, the mercathode unit fits in place of the block zinc. Take a look at the mercathodes from underneath, there is a piece of metal that looks like a paper clip. If that is broken or corroded away, the unit is bad and needs replacing.

yes thanks for that information. I didn't know that and no mechanic in mercruiser even lets you know any details of it. I wish there was a site that searay has for older boats that gives exact details along with part numbers you know. if you don't mind another question, for the out drives, Alpha's I pertaining to the hydraulic line, i have the ss braided ones that needs replacement. i have no idea about any of them. Mercuriser told me nothing about them when i asked. so now i'm in limbo on them. You wouldn't know what the part number is or any details for me would you ?? This boat is all new to me. its now in water in a slip. i'll be taking it out for repair work this fall, so i'm trying to get every thing for then'

Hi, i have the 87, SR 300 DA. 260hp x2 5,7's with Alpha 1 gen 1 also. i have the aft berth and the fwd berth. My sister lives in Middletown there. she don't mind boats but hubbie no way. so any how, i live up here in the PNW
