I have seen a few posts on this but seems to be more of a preference than a rule. Does a 2002 380 need prop shaft zincs or are they protected? It is my first year doing the boat and wanted to be sure it is done right. I have the tabs covered and the transom zinc I was told can go another season? does that make sense? Other than the pencil zinc in the generator am I missing anything.

Thanks

I put 2 zincs on each shaft and they last a year. So I feel they may be doing something.

Not sure on the 2005 and it is possible to "over Zink" a boat. Too Much protection can cause issues with not only the Zinks, but your anti-fouling paint. For what it is worth, our 2000 SR 380 Sundancer came to me with 2-Zinks per shaft, and I have been maintaining it that way for two years with no problems. Neither the Boat Yard, or my diver, has suggested I could be over zinked. In just over two years we have replaced them all three times.
