Sorry I just used "Zinc" as a generic term. The "anode" purchased with the maintenance kit was the same part number in the manual.

Hey my zinc broke off in generator heat exchanger as well, u guys saying to back flush it? Or push it in or use an easy out? Any luck on these ways working? Anybody run a screw into the center and then put a vice grip on it? 2005 kohler 5e. 340 dancer

I just pushed mine in. Has not caused an issue.

I just pushed mine in too......still running fine 5 years later.

I tried drilling it with an easy out and the whole thing turned to mush, was able to break it all up and get it out, new one installed. Thanks everyone
