ZF 630 V-Drive - Change Fluid/Filter

How many hours should I change the transmission fluid/filter in my ZF Vdrives? I looked in the sea ray manual and I didn't see it on the mtce schedule. Boat is a 2005 with 8.1s. Thanks!

Isn't the DEX-III hard to find? Is there a good source to get it. Is anyone using something different that is compatible

It is becoming increasingly harder to find Dexron III only, But Dexron/Mercon is available everywhere. Just be sure the label indicates Dexron III compatibility http://www.walmart.com/ip/Valvoline-Dexron-Mercon-Automatic-Transmission-Fluid/15125788

Thanks guys...I did see that the filters are around $150-$160. I have 330hrs on my boat, how many hours do you think you can get out of the filter by cleaning/reusing?

The ZF washable filters don't have a defined life, unless you damage them or you have a transmission grenade on you. Mine are 17 years old and have about 1400 hours on them, so you have a while to go..............

I have a spare set, so it makes changing the transmission fluid a breeze. Because I always have a clean dry set of filters.
