Is this clunk normal as it shifts into gear? First softer click is the shifter, clunk is the transmission.

600hrs.... just picked it up and changed the fluid and filter last week. My first inboard boat.... past boats have all been I/Os. Still getting familiar with inboards.

    Seems normal from my experience.

It's the dampener plate. Some clunk, some dont. Normal. The sound is not coming from the transmission. There is nothing in the guts that can cluck.
