Took a cruise to Atlantic City for a one nighter with 4 other boats....it was going to be a two nighter, but we cancelled Friday because of strong storm forcasts. We left on Saturday and the weather was beautifull....

Came accross a few local fisherman who 'must' fish right at the ICW channel markers.....they are simply morons.....there's no other way to describe their behavior.....

On the way back Sunday, we thought we had planned to beat the storm forcast for the afternoon, but.....no such luck....this line of storms ran in on us just south of the MM in Ship Bottom....

....I tried hailing the MM on the vhf....channels 16 and 9 and got not answer....I called them on the cell and they are closed on Sunday.....so we just 'crashed' the marina and we were able to find two dock hands to help us tie up as the storm was just on top of us......

There were only two of us....my 410 and a 38DA. We tied up in the travel lift and sat out the heavy part of the storm.....the lighting strikes were amazing...the town just accross the bay took a strike and lost power for a few hours...

It was fun.....

Same here, went to Cape may from Somers Point sat nite, left CM Sunday around 1 p/m
came home outside the whole way, 10 mins before the Great Egg Inlet, COUND NOT
see 40 feet in front, radar was no good because of the HEAVY rain... followed my gps
bread cumb trail, NEVER so happy to see the Longport bridge in front (about 50') ahead...

We had a similar experience. We took 11 boats to Georgetown for the weekend, with a planned stop at Still Pond on Sunday. Well Sunday’s weather took care of the Still Pond stop. That line of storms rolled across the bay Sunday morning, but we were still docked at Georgetown. The radar showed it moving fast, so we waited for it to clear and then made our run home. The ride home was great as we were going west down the Sassafras towards the bay, the sky was blue and the bay was less than 1 foot chop. Great ride home. As it turned out the rest of the day was great as well, and we should have went to Still Pond. Damn weather forecast.

Sounds like fun... Did they charge you for your stop??? I think I would have waited it out in AC and come back today... That's a lot of fuel for one night... We had 7 boats at the "secret spot" on Saturday... It was absolutely beautiful... I can't remember a better boating day... All the kids and adults were jumping off the boats... We had 7 feet of water and no jellies...

Glad you made it in Dom before the heavy stuff came down! As the 11th boat out of Georgetown we sat through it at the Dock, found a few more places to seal up around the arch, one annoying one right over the helm seat!!

It was a great ride back after that and a HOT sunny day on the Bay!

That was a really wicked front there, we were rocking and rolling at the slip when it first came on. Luckily one of our slip mates came through with a DVD for the kids (we remembered that we forgot them right at the boat) and that made the time spent at the slip pass quickly.

I agree with Bill, Georgetown was a great time and stop over. They let us crash their slip holder appreciation party with great food and drink!!!! Now the kids have another criteria on the cruise list, marina w/pool and NOW marina with Ice Cream shop...

It was one of the heaviest down pours and lighting strikes I've seen. Expect for the big Still Pond toilet bowl flush.

We checked out Still pond for the first time the other weekend...had a great time. But I'm not sure what you mean by the toilet bowl flush.....Does a lot of debris come out of there after a storm (more than others??). Is it alright to have kids swimming in?
