Had a buddy, named every boat For Sale. He said everything is always for sale for the right price. I don’t think he kept any boat longer than 2 years.

Only 2 out of 4 boats I’ve owned had names. Those two I still own. Name of the older one is Moonshiner. The newer one is this:

That is by far the most common boat name I've seen. You see them everywhere.

When I was kid, I went fishing to a small lake with my Dad. Always rented a 14' tinny with a 3.5 HP 'Rude. There was a classic mahogany Chris on the lake, usually driven by a cute blonde girl. It was named "Tempest".

When I was in High school my buddies and I rented the same boat, but now I took Grandpa's Merc 10. Now I could almost keep up with her and we pretended to race.

My first boat was "Tempest", the second was "Tempest II" and the third "Tempest III".

Later I bought a fishing boat. It wasn't a "real" boat, so we named her "Toy Boat". Later came "Toy Boat Two" and now "Toy Boat III"

We bought a new family boat shortly after retirement. My wife said no more Tempests. We took a cruise and I asked our dinner companion how he enjoyed retirement. He said "Livin' The Dream". That name stuck.

Of course, my classic woodie is named after My Mom and Grandma, jut like my Dad's boat.
