You wont believe what I found!!

Yesterday was a nice day for most of the day so me and my buddy decided to take the boat out for a quick cruise. I put her in on wed and made the trip from the marine to home no problem (minus the gale force winds). So yesterday i fired her up and let her warm up for a few, as we go to take off it kept stalling everytime i put it in gear. At this point i am baffled at what the deal is considering I just did a ton of service and made sure it was in tip top for this season. We managed to float her back to my dock to do some inspection.....Out drive all the way up laying on the swim platform with my arms in the water and there it was! A 20 foot long tow strap wrapped around the prop about 10 times!!!!! Needless to say i unwound it and freed the outdrive and thankfully round 2 was a little more succesful and nothin was damaged. Way to start off the season..

It was there in case your engine wouldn't run in gear and you needed a tow, but, on the other hand, it caused the engine to not run in gear and caused you to need a tow. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Everytime I see a post like this I cringe! I do not like strange noises and knocks coming from the engine compartment!

Yea! def a few bad thoughts ran through my head...so with this post..What crazy wierd stories do any of you have regarding somethin like this?

think on the bright side - you can always sell it on Ebay and make a few bucks - "Gently used tow rope for sale: a self-tightening model ( if installed the way I used it)"
