That's a shame. But hey, he did put fenders out...
 
That'll take more than just a little buffing to clean it up!

Sad to see. Anyone know the story behind it?
 
July 2013 incident, Brindisi

This thread on another forum has some other info and links to a few articles.

Summary--3 people on board, including captain. (Another article says 4 total), double engine failure.
Captain suffered heart attack at some point--a couple of reports say he was pulled from the water but then died during transport to the hospital. Seems he had been unable to anchor or take any other preventive measures after the engine failure, or perhaps was incapacitated/becoming so already, and the others on board were either untrained or for some other reason unable to do anything helpful, either.

Very sad story, especially if we can put any stock in the comments from posters who have traveled in that area about the supposed "you're on your own" culture.
