Yes, my jaw is on the floor

You sir, are clearly a reactionary and out of step with modern times. There obviously IS a free lunch and because of positive change, our new czars found it. A government that can run General Motors and Chrysler can almost certainly handle health care...and if not, who cares? No one cried when banking, lending, power generation and automobiles industries were nationalized. Get over it! Besides, it was George Bush's fault.

i hate to sound like a creep, but....

is anyone really surprised? this sort of mickey moused horses*&t is par for the course. think the economy sucks now? it's gonna get worse. talk of a second stimulus (that first one worked out so well.), cap and trade, nationalized healthcare, amnesty for illegals....i'm sorry... "undocumented immigrants" will bankrupt and destroy our country.

you had best call your senators and congressman (women) and remind them who they work for. if they pass any of the following, we are screwed.

I started to write a response, but was too pissed of to make any sense so I deleted it. This is total BS. Let's just chase all of the succesful people that create jobs out of the country!

How the hell did we elect these MORONS into Congress and the Whitehouse?!

I can't even begin to comment. Call your Congressman, tell him you have a dislocated jaw, ask him/her if it's OK to get it fixed, which Dr. he will allow you to see, wait 6-8 weeks to get an appointment, then be told you've waited too long, and now you are stuck like that. You think I'm kidding? Ask a Canadian about their nationalized healthcare.

Can I drive my 320 to Australia???

guys (or gals....not sure who's who...hate to be politically incorrect:smt001)

it's both sides! dems and reps! it's not left and right anymore. John McCain and Barrack Obama are the same person! (before anyone states the black/white young/old thing, you get my meaning, so don't bother) they are both "progressives" along the lines of woodrow wilson, f.d.r., and teddy roosevelt. look at who they really were.

unless we all ( and i do mean ALL )work together, the experiment known as america is doomed to fail. Was George Bush the best president? no. Neither was Bill Clinton. enough fingerpointing and namecalling! pick up the phone, start calling, or learn to speak chinese.

I feel like i've got to be on some Democrat list somewhere. I've been writing emails to my senators, reps, state senators, you name it, I've written them, every week. even Al Sharpton is making the evening news now as a political commentator... what is this world coming to!!!

George Bush was just Barrack Obama Light. They were both going in the same direction but Barrack is just in a big hurry to get there before people wake up. They have both ignored the Constitution. John McCain would not have been any better. Join me as a sensible Libertarian or we need to start a new third party. There are more Independents than Republicans or Democrats. Conservatives only (no RINOs) in 2010.

I am in DC right now. We will be meeting with theses dolts to at least try to sway there opinion on our current heathcare system. There's about 1000 of us as part of NAHU. You can go to NAHU.com or NAPBA.com to obtain sample letters to send your reps. Do it now or don't complain later. Gregg

Guess that should be .org instead of com.. I wasn't sure how the pro billards association was going to be that heavily involved... :smt001

But thanks for the link Gregg. My segment of the health care industry is about to be decimated. Your equipment needs are about to be dropped shipped or left at the front door and you get to figure out how to use it and service it. And don't even think of moving to another state and try to get another provider to take over your care...... :smt009

Do you mean NAHU.org?

The 111th congress will go down in history as being the Group that destroyed America, The Land of the Free.

By the time they, Congress, is finished they will be allowing every person in Mexico to vote in our elections and will be giving them money to stay in Mexico!

Breaking the back of the power hold of this Congress will be very difficult and undueing their work will be very messy.

We copy text from some organization's master letter via cut and paste, and send it on to a pre-addressed list of Senators and Representatives. Now that it is so easy to complain to our 'elected' representatives in Congress by email, somebody up there is bound to introduce a bill limiting us to only one email per day per subject from any one internet address. And then once they have the complaint rationing system in place, they'll figure out a way to catch those of us with multiple addresses so they can limit it to one complaint per person. Then it will be no more than two per week, then only one per week....

And the staffers who formerly were on the payroll to respond to all those complaining emails -- will they be laid off and goverment office staff budgets reduced to save taxpayer dollars? No, we'll have to pay to retrain them to write legislativese, so they can tack on more 300 page annexes to bills at 3am the morning before the bill is to be voted on, and yet more legislation will be enacted without being read by anyone prior to the vote.

These are the times that try men's souls....

I am not really surprised. This is nothing compared to where we are headed.

I have connections in an un-named US Senators office in an un-named state (yes...I know..) that has revealed a plan to "nationalize" all of the utilities a la the TVA authority. That will give the Federal G complete control over the electrical power distribution in the US. This thing is going to be intrduced in the form of a "green" legislation with God knows how much pork attached to it.

This is one of the first steps to give the Federal G control of ALL energy in the country.

Keep your eye on the ball.:smt101

"with Medical providers, employers and the wealthiest picking up most of the tab"

Let's see...

I am a medical provider (physician), employer, and "wealthy" (at least according to their standards). Add to that the fact that they are constantly whittling down our reimbursements and, well,... enjoy your free healthcare. Glad I could pay for it with everything I am worth.:smt013

BTW, how the F&%k does this make any sense?

Oh and the rising cost of healthcare is definitely NOT going to physicians. Not even subspecialists like myself. And yet, we are the only ones in healthcare that don't have lobbyists who have Obama, et al. deep in their pockets. I guess I am starting to get it.

Get the dynamics here ...

Employers will have to pay for Health Care, its unclear if they must pay for it all or cost share with employees, or pay a 8% payroll tax. That is $3,200 for a $40K employee. You might find this interesting but you can't buy health care group cover per employee for this little any way. So What does the employer do, they dump the employees in to the national plan because it's cheaper Duh! Like it wasn't planned this way right.

Note small employers (as defined by the SBA) will be exempt so those now giving health care can continue or .... yuppers they dump them. Like it wasn't planned this way, Duh!

Then IF the larger employer has a plan and an employee refuses that plan, the employee must pay 2.5 % of pay, or $1,000.00 for a $40K salary, or $20 bucks a week, which is less than they would probably have to pay in existing cost sharing plans. So the employee refuses the employer plan and takes the public plan.

This whole scheme while not specifically stated, is economically designed to get employers to dump their employees in to the public plan. Why, because it costs the employer less, and the Dems will lambaste the employers as being evil and overloading the public plan and will raise the tax on them again... Just watch this one kids, this tax will soon be 20% of wages, plus the add on tax to the wealthy. :smt101

Inflation is going to be rampant, US exports will be sharply curtailed due to price escalations, Available household income will plummet and cause further downward pressure on a flagging economy. Cap & Tax, Healthcare, fuel speculation all serve to cripple our households financially with perhaps as much as an additional $10K a year in added public burden cost per household.

The Republican battle cry has always been the Dem's were Tax and Spend. Well ... We got it wrong they are actually Spend and Tax.

If what is going on doesn't galvanize the middle class into a major voters revolt against this government, we are doomed to a frightful future. The time to act is now to raise up local Candidates for Congress to defeat this crowd, we have 14 months to get ready to kick out these Dem's and swing back Congress to a centrist position

I pledge to never vote for a single democrat on any future ballot, local or national. I disagree with all of the changes I've observed on the national and local scene. Both run by the democrats. This is not at all what I wanted. I have plenty of time to retire, but I am now investigating other countries to live in as an ex-pat. I will pull that card if this crap continues. I am registered as an independent.

teekster, we're on your side brother! notice to fix the healthcare crisis, that "tort reform" was shot down? i couldn't help but notice that obama esq. was dead against tort reform...hmmmm. wonder why.
azureyez, i get the feeling 25-30% inflation is on the horizon. as for the benefits dump, like g.m. isn't waiting for this crap to go through? it's not just the dems. they all suck.not all dems are bad, and not all g.o.p. are good. i had specter here forever. he doest even know what the f&^% he is!
