XMD1 to CMD4

We plan to install a decent sound system down the road. However, in the interim, I have a CMD4 I think will be an easy install that will be better and has an AUX jack. I have had 2-CMD4s in the past and was pleased with them.

Will this be a plug-n-play situation? I have to change out the remote as well and I believe the XMD1 has an 8-pin plug and the CMD4 a well.

Any thoughts, advice, suggestions appreciated.
