XM radio GREED!!!!

Tried to reup 1 of 4 Xm radios after being off for a year. Now they want $15.00 to activate. You know what? they can go to hell. First they went up then came the music roylty fee.

They can do without my money. Greedy bastards

Plenty of free FM stations:smt013

I will second those sentiments. I must have a "Sirius" account and an "XM" account for my truck paying the full price for both receivers. I should be able to have the boat as an add-on receiver for $6 a month.

Even though it is one company they maintain they have not yet been able to merge the billing systems. That is a load of crap. I work in the IT field and merging billing systems is possible, all it takes is some skill and effort. They don't care and as long as the FCC or FTC is not forcing the issue they will continue to screw their customers. Even without merging the billing systems they could figure out a way to make it work.

For that matter, I need to call and cut my Sirius Boat tuner off for the winter.

I always waite till the subscribution runs out and XM gives me a better deal like 77.00 a year. Sometime I call just befor it expires and they ask if I go not get a special promo what would I do, "cancel", special deal done.

Yep, the royalty fee is a load of crap! I already pay a premium for "commercial free" radio, now they want me to pay their inherent fees to the music business! :smt013

I didn't even bother with activating the sirius radio in the 340 this year, as I've gotten tired of playing their games and trying to decipher their billing to see if I've been taken for a ride again. I still have the whaler active right now, and will probably leave it current, again because I am tired of the games.

My salvation was a 8 GB MP3 sony walkman, that I use on the 340 and works better than Sirius.

Anyother annoyance, where the hell is Sirius getting these dang DJ's from who think they are playing Kasy's Coast to Coast and have to lead in and lead out of every song. I was listening to "The Blend" or what ever they call it now, and some artsy fartsy Jack Wagon (thank you JimG) is on there flaming away in between the songs. If I'd had my cell phone with me, I would have called Sirius to complain....after being on hold for an hour or two.

Scott, don't forget that because you are a "valuable customer", you get to listen to the live Paul McCartney concert celebrating their 20 millionth subscriber.

Wetpaint your going to need all the greedy Exec's you can get. They lost $400.00 from me last year and looks like they will continue to do so. Sell the stock before they go under

Hence the reason I stopped my subscription for my boat, truck and car... Just got tired of the DJ's on the Blend (that was a great station Scott) and other stations on XM. I bought an HD stereo radio with DVD/CD and Ipod input and remote control for less than $150 at Best Buy. So now I listen to my IPod... and HD...

I just got an offer from XM to listen to 60 stations (Blend not part of that) for free from Nov 18-Dec 1 (no cc info needed) and I could renew for $20 for five months and no activation fee (cc required).

We have an awesome free radio station here in the NW... 104.5 and it has commercials (only one per cycle) about every 4 or 5 songs. Very little chat either... Don't have to listen to some banter about E TV etc like I did on XM. I told XM if they get rid of the DJ's, I'd come back. The whole reason I thought for paying a premium was to avoid commercials... umm, I mean banter... they still profess they have no commercials... HA!

What are these royalty fees? Maybe I'm exempt, or haven't looked at my bill close enough!? I've been a subscriber for 4 or 5 years now, with two radios on my account.

I really appreciate the service because if you knew where I lived, there are ZERO radio stations around me. Before Sirius, it would depend on the weather conditions if I could get a radio station at all, or listen to more static than radio on any given day. So it really just depends on the market...I'll keep paying.

Iphone with Pandora!! It beats FM and XM!
Do you know if the new Droid will be able to stream Pandora?? I think that is a great idea. Currently I use the music stations on Directv. It used to be XM but is Sonic now. Thats why I am upgrading my stereo head unit so I can pipe the sound from the Tracvision dish.

Oh it's there I'm sure. They tack on either 1.99 or 2.99.

I cancelled Sirius - their customer service is the worst. They then sent me a bill saying my contract had already auto-renewed and a bill for $45. I hate Sirius Satellite Radio. Android has Pandora. Sirius can die like the Cable Companies soon will. Yes I hate Sirius.

XM/Sirius was just more trouble for me than it was worth. My sedan had the Sirius module built in, and the only time I ever used it was traveling through the wastelands of south Georgia and northern Florida (otherwise pretty much limited to local conservative/talibaptist talk radio, the Agriculture channel, and either '60's country or 70's pop). I encountered the same problem...I tried to extend the same account to the boat, with no success. It resulted in a littany of customer service debacles while I tried to terminate the relationshp. They just sent me a cheap re-up offer, which I tried to take them up on, then got the run around because the offer was for the receiver in my last car...not this one. It reminded me of the bad taste I had left in my mouth after dealing with them. Didn't pull the trigger. I have Pandora but have never used it. I'll give it a shot.
