I have the chance to swap my 195 sport 5.0 MPI 2006 for a 2002 200 select with same engine.

I love how my sport just cuts up the chop and the wakes of other boats and also can get great air lol, but i would prefer a boat with a larger beam and more cockpit space for the comfort of others on board.

Soes the 200 select handle the rough as well as the 195 sport? If it a boat that just cruises over other boats like the 195 sport does without slapping the water and banging around?

Id love to hear comparisons from people and what they would do if they have tried both boats.

I have the option with my dealer to swap and i do not know what to do.

Both boats here in Australia are rare. There is one other 195 sport for sale and there is no 200 selects in australia for sale.

Let me know your opinions please

From looking at the spec sheets, it looks like you'll gain about a foot of length and nearly a foot in beam, too. However, when I look at the floorplans it looks like the sunpad is deeper on the 200 than on the 195, so some of that added length might be compromised. It also looks like most of the beam width gets taken up by the walk through transom, so I'm not sure what the benefit ends up being. I do agree that wider beam will give you a bit more stability at rest.

I read your other post about parts stolen off your 195, so I'm sure how your insurance handles that will be a big factor in your decision, too.

I think it all comes down to condition of each boat, hours on the motors, etc. Doesn't seem like you're gaining very much and you'd end up with a four year older boat. I'm not sure I'd make that swap because you're gaining a bit more, but now you have uncertainty as to what issues the 200 may have that you're not aware of.

I am sticking with the 195 sport. It truly is the greatest ride with the hull. It is also a new hull for 2006 so not sure i would want to go down 4 years. I am considering the 205 sport though as I really want that extra width in beam because that single half foot makes such a difference with the side to side floaty factor for the girls.
I had the maxum 1900sr for a day before taking the 195 sport and the 1900sr had such great room in it vs the 195 sport so the 205 sport i am looking at has the wider beam plus the better layout for space. I tell you what, the 1900sr maxum felt so much bigger but the hull slapped the wakes and chop where the 195 sport just cruises through it or sits above it. Which makes it so much more comfortable. The maxum smacked down on every wake which was not a great feeling. Amazing how different it is. The only time I saw a bit of chop that i thought would make it smack down on the 195 was the exact opposite, I actually got airborn and the back landed first due tot he weight so it was actually really soft as it cant of got very high despite feeling like it was.

Wow, the 195 sport is really a great boat. Just a shame the bench seat takes so much space versus having the seats next to the engine. You have to consider the space that it takes up starts at where the motor box would end and then you add the bench seat. The seating next to the engine starts way back at the transom. This opens up at least 3-4 foot of extra spacing right along the width of the boat.
If anyone is looking at the two when it comes to buying the 195 sport, Id go for the seating layout aside the motor because it converts to the sundeck when you want it to but while you dont, you get so much space at the rear of the boat versus the bench seat.

Anyone looking at this boat and has come across this thread in google, buy it!! At least take it out for a test because the ride factor is really special.
