Would you pay/continue to pay for an unregulated Holding Tank

Should the Holding Tank be unregulated and be open to just sponsors?

I know people already pay for sponsorships, so obviously you'd continue to pay regardless but Im wondering...

Should the sponsorship include being able to discuss whatever in an unregulated Holding Tank section?

I am even wondering if it would increase sponsorships to be able to come into the holding tank and be able to post whatever...much like cable or satellite is unregulated.

In other words, the Holding Tank would be closed to non-sponsors, but sponsors could get in and post almost whatever they want. THis way, we eliminate the fear of kids/families coming in and checking out stuff or new people.

Thoughts?
 
So you want to be able to say anything in any way or form in the holding thank? A total free for all, open season, anything goes sort of place. A regular wild wild west of CSR?

I like the de-regulation aspect. However, the issue I see is that traffic will go way down and it won’t be as fun to read or post anymore. By leaving it open to all, at least you are guaranteed a lot of reading.

The site we don’t speak of is set up as you suggest, the NBR areas are only for paying customers who have anchors…

What's the difference in the Club Level forum that we already have for paying members and a Holding Tank that has pay for members. Could we just get trashy in the Club Level?
 
That's what I was thinking....the club level 'Main' area is already there. What you are actually asking for is simply a new forum in the Club Level area....instead of holding tank, just call it the 'crapper'...

If you want read and post comments like that you should look for a divorced men's forum that shares stories about their ex-wives and their unfair divorce settlements.


I associate boating with the positive things in life and not the negative ones. I don't think this forum was established for the purpose suggested by this thread.

Besides, if the site got too raunchy, my company's "websense" software would probably block it.

Why not just join another forum where you can act like a 14 year old? I know you're talking about the Holding Tank and all....but the primary focus of this site is boating -- Sea Rays in particular.

All of this banter and stupidity lately has gotten to be very annoying and distracting to say the least. You're all grownups so act the way you want you want, I suppose. I will avoid the posts/forums that I don't care for.

Here's what's interesting to me....

Some people, it seems, act much differently on these forums than they might in real life. Especially if, say, the wives were around. Well, from time to time there are occasion's when us members have the opportunity to meet in real life. There are a lot of people who I don't think I would want to meet now that I've witnessed their crap on CSR. It's just my opinion that some people here are not portraying themselves in a very positive way....possibly in an inaccurate way compared to their "real life" behavior. Not naming names, not implying that I'm perfect, not passing judgment, not even saying that I'm right...just an observation.

I read what I want to read, respond when I feel I can add value, and I've learned to stay out of the fray. That's just me.
