Wot falls on its face

Yeh picked it up four months ago. Its starts and runs great till about 2500 rpm. Then chokes chugs etc. put new wires plug cap rotor. Just did a rebuild on the quadrajet. Same. Bout to bring it to someone. :(
QUOTE=northshore;794933]Wardy,

Did this just start happening out of the blue?
Did you just buy the boat?[/QUOTE]

At 2500, does it have. thunderbolt ICM?
Also you said plugs and wires. What about the cap, pickup (or points) rotor, coil?

At at first I would say it's fuel delivery, once the secondary's open it's starved. There is a filter at the carb / in the carb, was that replaced. Some have them, mine did not.

second would be timing, the ICM controls the time advance as you increase the throttle. Once you out run the spark she will fall flat. Included in that would be your coil, pickup (or points) the rotor and the cap. All of these work together as you advance the throttle to give the correct spark at the correct time. And the coil the proper strength of a spark.

IF it's the ICM, many members here have replaced the system with newer better systems the totally remove that piece of junk (I still have them, when they fail....they go!)

Bring in it over, I"ll fix it!!! This is what I do.

fyi, Put a steel plate on the front of it. It will have to brake some ice for a trail run.

If this has been going since you got it and it sat for a long time, make certin that you've delt with all the fuel filters / seperators.
Have you gone through a full tank of gas yet?

I'd back blow the fuel like into the tank, just to make sure that is clear.
