worn prop bearings?

hi guys, I have a 2002 alpha 1 leg behind a 4.3l. when idling along i hear a noise from the lower leg. On the bank if I spin the prop it sounds like a worn bearing . I can also grab the prop and feel a small amount of up and down play. is it possible for me to replace the bearings ,or is it a job for a specialist.
