Worlds largest rubber duck

Too far south for me. Crisfield and Leonardstown.
One duck is 30,000 pounds. That’s even more than Skybolt’s boat, maybe.

Haha - Close - 36,000 with the Detroit's.

I read this in a mag this week, forget which one, Prop-Talk? anyway I only have one question on this. WHY?

This is the most ridiculous thing I have seen on the water.
I suppose some folks are into events like this. I know my kids were interested. You have to give props to the guy who came up with this gimmick. Over one million people came out to see this thing in Toronto.

Why aren’t they at work? Serious, ever drive around, go to stores, and wonder why aren’t all these people at work? All the midday traffic. I swear 20% are supporting the 80%. they aint all retired.

I'm not sure if it's the same organization, but I ran up to Philly with a buddy on his 1888 Lawley for a tall ship event, maybe 10 years ago. The next day they went out sailing and decided to shoot off a signal shot from their cannon. His 20 something daughter was mallet operator, and within seconds of hitting it, the giant rubber duck off that side of the boat deflated, almost completely. They had her convinced that she did it. She was mortified, and upset at what she had "done". Eventually they fessed up and told her she couldn't have done it.
Seems they ripped out the towing rings as they were moving it.

I used to wonder that when I was on vacation. But in summer there are a lot of people on vacation so it looks like EVERYONE is not working. But you don’t see the majority toiling away in offices and factories. Now I am retired and I don’t care anymore LOL.
