World Whiskey Day

That is awesome, except the 18th is tomorrow...:wink:

LOL at you teasing our down-under friend:) This losing a day stuff when travelling over the international date line when going down under does seem really odd, am looking forward to getting it back on the return journey when we go later this year. Have no idea why we actually do this, suppose I could Google it, the "Oracle" will no doubt know:)

I am letting you know in advance, hic...well were well into the day.

Our local bottle shop has tastings available, admiral offered to drop me up there, didn't offer to bring me back though. Hmmm

Just to make sure I cover the holiday.....I will drink oh a little today and I already had some yesterday

Forgot that I think the Captain may celebrate more than on the official day.....as he gives me a lot of those useful Crown Royal bags and I hear him say "God Bless Canada" very frequently:)

Well in celebration of the occasion I have decided to embark on my own tasting tonight. I have heretofore unopened a bottle of 15 year Macallan Highland Scotch and a 20 year Speyside Scotch. I will have to determine which I like best. I'm sure a good cigar will also be in order...

Gee I went poor for the night.

I settled with a Dewars 12 year old, was looking at the 18 year old Chivas but only bought it last week and haven't opened it yet. Same with the Genfiddich

Have a very special bottle of Famous Grouse. Purchased at the distillery, made in Scottish Oak, then they destroyed the barrel. When you bought a bottle, they took 2 pieces of the oak and engraved your name in each, 1 piece went in the box and the other on the wall of the distillery.

But purchased that as a sharesy with the Admiral, and as she is still in recovery mode from the op., she said no.

Two fingers Makers Mark on the rocks-back of the boat waiting for sunset-Happy Whiskey Day!

My wife from Stonehaven, Scotland (Aberdeenshire) and I are enjoying the worlds best scotch from the worlds smallest distillery...Edradour. The 10 year is all you can get in metro Detroit but it is better than any 15+ yr old scotch out there, guaranteed.

I just love a multiple choice test where all the answers are right! I prefer the Speyside just a little better and now that taste testing is complete have added a Partagas 1845 Black Label 6"x60 Gigante to the mix.

HAPPY WORLD WHISKEY DAY!!!

It is a game changes MM. It is essentially a farm in mid Scotland and the owner is hands on. You wont be able to find it on the shelves but if you ask the owner of the liquor store they can order it.

How far apart are you supposed to have your fingers? Or which fingers? Little and pointer?

On a more serious note, am going to try and find a bottle of Edradour
