Well, as some of you already figured out, I am working the AOC this weekend. Fri, Sat, and Sun nights, about 9 hours each, except 11 on Sat. After work last night, my wife met me at the boat. It's our first cool/cold evening on the boat this year. We grabbed a blanket and cuddled up in the cockpit to watch Sat Night Live on HDTV. Love U2, but they weren't very impressive. Good night sleep.
Got up this AM and headed out. I had been feeling some roughness out of the stbd engine, and this am was no exception (thus the spark plug wire discussion). First thing, I idled over to a sand bar and dropped anchor. I jumped in with a mask to ensure that it wasn't fouled. It wasn't.
As we pulled anchor and headed back out, the roughness was gone. Maybe it was fouled and cleared itself while backing in to the sand bar? We cruised for several minutes until we reached our normal spot and dropped anchor. It was cool, partly cloudy and rough. Winds were N/NW. We made breakfast, then cleaned up and went for a walk. We collected trash, as usual. During the walk, winds died to zero, the skies cleared, and it was an absolutely spectacular day (PCB Fall std). The sun was warm and the Gulf was calm.
On the way back, we ran into a bunch of friends on the beach playing bacci ball (sp?). We packed up, and headed back to the dock. After cleaning up, we said our goodbye's and I headed back in here to work the rest of the day and night. Overall, a great day.
I really needed to run the boat again before our trip to Apalach to ensure there wasn't a problem on the stbd side.
