Whats the best glue/adhesive to fix the interior wood trim that is seperating at the edges? Was this way when boat was purchased. My guess is you have one shot to fix this correctrly and clean.

If its the laminate then use contact cement.

look at the right side edge of the cabinet.

that will be tricky to repair. You will need: contact cement and pressure. The contact cement is the easiest part. the trick be applying constant pressure across that area while the cement dries. Most likely you'll need to remove the cabinet door. Use a some clamps and two boards (one on each side) use furniture wax on the wood to act as a release agent (in the event that contact cement seeps out). Good luck. Let us know how you fare.

ghuskin gave you the correct approach if you can get clamps on it. I don't recall that cabinet having much of an inside edge for a clamp which may pose a problem. Check that and let me know what you find.

You need to use a clear contact cement on the laminate and the substrate .....applied with a model painting brush. Push the glue in as far as you can, wait for it to set and roll it with a rubber laminate roller. The glue will ooze out. Roll it vertically and horizontally then put on a layer of wax paper (or another wood release agent) and clamp down with a 2"x4" cut to the length of door seam.

Clean up depends on how well you manage the laminate rolling and edge. Try not to get contact cement on the roller. Typically, contact cement works well and in 24 hours and some minor cleanup the problem will be solved.

Owners ask why this happens. There is a delicate balance of adhesive, the laminate and substrate during the installation process. Sometimes the adhesive releases because it is applied too thin or was not mixed properly. Other causes are moisture and extreme temperatures. In some cases, the substrate (typically pressboard) was not cured properly and its integrity fails. In your case, it appears to be insufficient adhesive. Your interior looks perfect for a 2001.

Home Depot has clear contact cement that will work ok for the repair you have. The roller is usually a bit harder to find because a wood roller or hard plastic can damage the laminate surface. If you can't find one, we sell them on the RM website.
