Woke up to this !!!!!

Purdy, but....

Holy cow... luckily haven't seen snow yet. Just lock yourself indoors and don't come out for 4 months. We can make it Wayne

Looks friggin cold were going out for some silver salmon fishing later today. Weather has been saying we're going to have a 2nd La Nina winter usually means lots of snow Jan-Feb. hope it holds off from Nov 21 to Dec 31 winter dungeness crab season.

Today: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 57. South wind around 5 mph becoming calm.

Tonight: A 30 percent chance of rain after midnight. Increasing clouds, with a low around 48. West northwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm.

Lake Pleasant, AZ, 10/28/11, 86 degrees, no clouds, no wind, perfect boating day.

Man, I was not loving the weather here in Charlotte this morning but I guess I thank my lucky stars we don't have any of the white stuff!

GFC that is just mean man, rub it in. haha

How did he do that ??. :smt017. Without telling us about that trip..

I'll second that! I just got back inside from winterizing an '01 290DA, twin 5.7EFI. Then I had to go and do an '89 18'. That was brutal. The "real feel" temp is 17*. I'm slowly starting to get feeling back in my fingers. These boats are on the showroom lot so they can't go inside.

Sorry guys here's our day in SnOhio...

Nothing better in fall (since we can't boat) then college football....

I had to tarp my 270 today to keep the 4-8" of snow off the cockpit cover. My carport is not here yet but the radar arch does a great job supporting the tarp.....It's still Fall and this is crazy. Not snowing much here right now....good, Mike.

Thanks for the invite GFC!!!! :p I'm gonna head up to Pleasant shortly, I gotta see this beast out on that lake!!!!

Isn't your 550 a bit chubby to trailer over to AZ from WA?:smt043

Heck no, I towed it down here with my '98 Exploder!

Just kidding, of course. Two years ago when we were seriously looking for a house down here to be snowbirds in, we started also looking for a boat to bring down to use when we're down here. I picked up this 1989 Reinell 19' bowrider in Portland, OR. It has a 5.8L 351-V8 and runs great. I bought it from the original owner, and old retired guy whose kids are all my age. They used to use it to tube and ski on the Willamette River in Portland but it had been in his shop for many years. He was handicapped and couldn't use it any more so I picked it up for $2,000. Here are two pics from when we bought it. I didn't do a thing to it before these pics were taken....

And here are some pics from down here. The first is when we're hooked up and ready to head for the lake, the second when we were stopped at a restaurant at Scorpion Bay having a celebratory drink. The boat hadn't been started for over 2 years but fired right up and ran like a champ. With a full fuel tank, two of us aboard, plus two tool boxes, a cooler and assorted other stuff it hit 46.4 on the GPS. Not bad for a 22 year old boat.

Yeah not quite enough room on the trailer for your 550! I am trying to take a similar path only our plans our not to become an AZ snowbird but rather at full time Cactus Hugger once we are able to sell our house here in the land where governers make license plates to pass the time each day. I looked at Scorpion Bay 2 months ago but I don't like having to take a tram up or down to haul stuff down or up from the boat. The Admiral and I much prefer Bartlett Lake eventhough it is only 20% the size of Lake Pleasant. When and if we are able to move down there, I'll look for the Reinell out on the water during the winter months!!

Here's a pic I didn't post earlier but I thought you guys might get a kick out of it....

We came upon a clandestine meeting of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee being held in a remote location on the shores of Lake Pleasant. It looked like The Great Spender was even present.
