Wiring diagram

I have a 1994 sundancer 300. My problem is there is constant power to the Nav. lights. I would like to correct the problem rather than just run new wires to the lights ...I would like to know where the power source is coming from. Is there anywhere on-line where I can get a wiring diagram for my boat. 1st post by the way, overjoyed that I've found this site.

I'm not sure where to find a wiring diagram for your year. But, the power runs through your switch, right? Maybe the switch is shorted (although usually when a switch goes bad, it doesn't work at all). Try taking the switch out, remove the wires from the switch... lights should go out. Connect the wires directly together and the lights should go back on.

In the mid 90's, Sea Ray did not include the wiring diagram in anything normally available on their website. They published a manual or document every year explaining the differences between the new boats and the prior year's model. The wiring diagrams were included in this document. There were usually 2 or 3 around a dealership in areas like service and sales. Your only hope is to go to your dealer and ask his help in finding that manual.........and hoping that someone didn't throw it away because it looks like a new boat thing, not a reference.

Yeah I tried that. I threw the switch on the seat and still the lights shone.. The problem presented itself after I had a GPS installed and I don't know if the fellow who did that work caused the problem or did he just work with a problem someone else created.

If the problem wasn't there before, checking with him might be the best place to start.
