With all the computer people that we have on this board someone has to be able to help me. I can not get into CSR from my home computers (laptops) with my wireless router. I have to log off my connection to my signal and log onto a neighbors which of course is weeker. At first I thought it may be because the laptop I was always using was a work computer and the other computer which was a desktop had its own modem running into the house (always worked). But now our new laptop will not work either (non-work). I will post the screen that it shows, it does a search for a while and then opens what looks like a google search for CLUBSEARAY. Hopefully someone can help as this is really becoming a pain. No trouble getting to any other site that I am aware of.

Any ideas:smt100:smt100:smt100:smt100:smt100:smt100:smt100:smt100:smt100

Wesley,

You do realize that I will be absolutely no help on this one............sorry. I did find Homi Patel with Linksys to be very helpful, after we dealth with the language thing, when we had to replace a router recently.

Wes

I don't know how much help I can be but first can you answer a few questions?

Can you explain your confguration in a little more detail. What brand of router do you have? Are you using wireless connections for you entire network or do you have a computer hard cabled into the router as well? Do any of your computers using that router allow you to get on the internet?

Correct Clubsearay is the only site that I can find that this happens too...Could it be that my ISP (or whatever) is listed on the ban list of this site (maybe Jim's way of telling me I am not needed anymore). Is anyone else having a problem with a wireless router. What is weird I am connecting to a neighbors wireless and it works fine.

That makes no sense at all. :smt101
Have you tried cabling your computer to the router instead of using the wireless link and see if it works that way?

Ok prior to today I had two actual cable modems coming into our house one for downstairs and one for upstairs (I know I could have used a router but decided not to as one is for work and wanted it to be as fast as possible)

Now have one cable modem hooked to a Linksys WRT300N Wireless-N Broadband Router. The work laptop is got a cable plugged directly into the router as it sits at the docking station. The personal laptop does not have a cable running into the router and is using the wireless card.

Both laptops are hooked up to a wireless printer. The printer is also hard wired into the wireless router.

The computer is a Dell, The computer is a Dell XPS M1530. (I know should have went MAC).

Again connect to any other site no problems...the more and more I think about it the more I think maybe my IP is locked out of this site...could that be the problem????

Wes, I have the same router and it's just fine. there must be something with security settings either at IE level or the router. I would try going to Internet Options->Security->Trusted Sites and try adding the CSR site there. I've never had to do it, but since it's a simple change I would try. Restart IE to take effect.

I'll let you know if I'll think of something better, but i'm the application guy not security.

Good luck,
Alex.

Wes,

You may have your browser set up so that if a domain name can't be resolved with your DNS, it'll default to a google search.

Type in the actual IP address of clubsearay and tell me what you get:

http://208.78.40.47

I think Gary is right on, sounds like DNS issue... let us know if the IP works...

Wesley, Gary's probably got you headed in the right direction, it looks like a DNS problem. I'm assuming you're using Internet Explorer 7, if not let us know. Here's a few simple things to try:

- In IE, go to Tools, Delete Browsing History, then delete Temporary Internet Files and History. Close IE, re-open and try again.

- Open the windows control panel and then open Network Connections. Right click on the connected wireless connection, and click on repair. Wait till you're connected again and try again.

If those things don't work, report back and we will go from there.

Damn Gary, beat me to it (he probably has his computer set to PST to get the answers out 3 hours earlier). It is sounds like DNS. The only other thing I could think of is any type of server redirect, however that would also affect your neighbors network.

Ok, I will try that. I was on the neighbors system and switched to Sea Ray which popped up the home page...I said nice...but as I typed in user name and password hit log in it went slow again and said could not locate page. Tried the number again with no success. You guys are getting there...I will try the other thing.

And Dave when you say try another browser you are referring to another internet besides internet explorer, I think back in school there was something called Netscape do they still make other browsers...:huh:I am going to steal a quote from on of the smartest people I know, "I don't do computers".

As for the version the computer is brand new but I am not sure what version. righted clicked on the e, went to properties, nothing but internet explorer.

So did the page come up if you typed in the number? I can't follow what you said....

The login will not work even if you typed in the number because the login redirects you to "clubsearay.com" and if your DNS is messed up, the login will not work..

I just want to know if you type in the IP address if the first page loads... does it?

What is your IP address? The only ones I have on the block list are Gary's (he hacks in anyway somehow), and a few russian girlie sites (you are not into that stuff are you?).

When I type in that address Gary it does not work. It brings up a screen that says the page can not be displayed
