Trying to prod one of our more experience guru's to provide a "winterizing checklist"

Any takers? Think we could answer a lot of questions ahead of time

I'll bite on this one!

Here is mine. The boat is in my heated shop, waiting to go for a ride.
  • Clean out all the dead flies that have somehow managed to get into my shop as the weather gets cold.
  • Make sure I have plenty of wood pellets on hand to keep the pellet stove working.
  • Check that the thermostat works so I know it won't get down to freezing inside.
  • Check the stove pipe, clean as necessary
  • Make sure I have some fuel in the boat with fuel stabilizer in case I don't run it for a month or two in winter.
  • Check battery water
  • Check shore power cord is connected, and the shore power breaker is on in the boat
  • Check that converter AC switch is OFF
  • Check the Guest switch is in Both, and that the Xantrex inverter is on and floating all batteries.
I suppose everybody's winterizing checklist is different depending on their circumstances. I think there are lots of posts here about winterizing. I suggest you make your own, maybe using a spreadsheet. When you get it done, post it for comments. Then you will own it.

I don't have the boating experience that most folks have. I've only been around boats for the last 25 years or so. I guarantee this is the FIRST winterizing thread I've ever seen that includes "dead flies"! I WISH I had that problem and I wish I had a heated shop big enough to store my boat!! Any extra room? I can bring a load or two of pellets!! :)

One boat is getting winterized as I write this and I'm on the way out the door to gather the supplies required to winterize the 250 DA! I think I should take the money from winterizing and buy a big shop!
