winterizing mercuruser 8.1 S Horizon with closed cooling

Am I missing something for the water part or is it a simple as
Pumping air into the system until both green indicators extend and water drains from both
sides of the engine and empty the 2 mufflers in the back?

 
I store heated indoors, but I still drain the water like you've said just in case. It IS supposed to be just that easy! (great feature)
 
I installed groco flush kits on the mains and run pink through. Are you blowing them out /draining to save on antifreeze ? Or is there an advantage? I never used this process on either boats? I'm a little nervous that I wouldn't get it all out .
 
This process will not get all the water out. Any remaining water will freeze, but that's fine since there are places in which the ice can expand. Personally, I'd run some relatively inexpensive "plumber's antifreeze" through the system (after you first drain the water) to be on the safe side. Murphy's law...
