Winterizing - Did I forget something?

I believe nothing will come out from exhaust until thermostat opens up

My block, manifolds and hoses were all drained. Took allot of coolant to fill all this back up.

The sea water pump pumps lake water constantly. Is continuously moving water and exiting via the exhaust. Does that make some better sense?

I'm winterizing my MerCruiser 4.3 TKS that's in my 2008 185 Sport, and I can't find the "Fuel-cooler-to-thermostat-housing hose" drain plug that is described in the manual. Can someone help me find this drain plug or does my engine not have this plug?

So if you run the antifreeze in through the Muffs, when do you fog the engine? Kinda tough doing both at the same time (waiting for antifreeze to escape from the exhaust and fogging ).

The shop manual from mercury specifically states to drain the water from the block, and add anti-freeze through the thermostat housing. I don't know for the life of me, what is so complicated about this concept.
On most points I agree with the sentiment that the manufacturer knows best. They certainly may in this case as well.

My reluctance is based on the idea that opening a perfectly-good cooling system risks a leak or a damaged fastener. I also do not see how pumping the lay-up fluid through the muffs is not going to work just as well.
