Winterizing 8.1s on 2005 340 dancer

I might end up with the parts for awhile before I get brave enough to start the hacking part.

I am envisioning a T-fitting that I can attach to the inlet of the coolfuel unit, rather than splicing into any fuel lines......
Problem might be lack of slack in that fuel line. Mine BARELY reaches.

In the end, though, you're still removing and replacing fuel lines. And you'd still need the shut-off valves. Any way you look at it, you're doing something with fuel lines. Also, technically speaking, any fuel valve needs to be self-supported/attached to something solid (meaning a valve can't just be hanging inline with a fuel line). Come to think of it, with a T-valve and two separate shut-off valves, you'd actually be increasing the number of times the fuel line is messed with and the number of fuel-line fittings/clamps that are needed. I personally don't see a problem with doing that (if it's done properly, of course), but if one of the goals is to limit the number of connections (which is, of course, a better way to do it), then using a fuel selector valve will be the better choice. Unless you're thinking of something that I am not, Scott?

OK, you get a pass... that's a good excuse! :smt001 How long till you're back in the air?

Might be misunderstanding you Scott but if something is screwed into the CF unit and then I have to get the fuel line back on it wouldn't reach. Thus the simplicity aspect goes out the window (would have to pull off all the tie-down and try to get a little extra hose freed up).

I have my maneuvers validation checkride today, and then four more Line Oriented Training sessions, then my final checkride on the 23. So, I should be back in the air by the end of the month.

The light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter and closer! Good luck!

I've been trying to convince my wife to let me go for my pilots license as we make multiple trips per year from PA to ME and 3-1/2 hours is A LOT better than 9+ hours with the family in the car (7-1/2 if it's just me and my brother). My kids are now trying to convince her, too!
