Winterize myself or pay someone?

If it's an out drive just put a set of ears on it with a short hose into a Five gallon pail of pink stuff. Start the motor, when blows out the exhaust your done !

It may not be that easy.
If you do this on a cool motor with the thermostat closed, you'll see "pink stuff" blow out the exhaust very quickly, but the block won't be properly protected.
You are likely to suffer major freeze damage over the winter.

While the single point drain system is a good idea in theory, I don't trust it for winterizing purposes.

A few recommendations:
Fog the motor using the appropriate method for your application

The 2 small hoses for the block drains should be removed and cleared of any blockage. Compressed air or back flushing with water works well.

The plugs on the underside of the exhaust manifolds should be removed and debris cleared from within.

Close it up, remove the thermostat and pour the antifreeze in. Reinstall the thermostat and you done.

When you opened up the drain to drop the water out of everything... did you double check by removing the small hoses from the block and manifolds and poke the holes? They are such small hoses that they can get clogged. When you pour antifreeze in, you then end up with a some "mix" of water and antifreeze.

But, what do you mean by a "place" to winterize it built in. There is no such thing standard. Did you add something?
There is a reservoir like a brake fluid container in the truck, says on it to add the antifreeze there. I pick it up tonight I'll try to post a pic.

I'll be curious to see what you got going on there. I hope you're not referring to the drive fluid reservoir bottle!

What about the hoses?

Is this a fresh water cooled 4.3?
I was wondering that, too. But then... why would winterizing antifreeze be added? I have no idea if that can even be used as "running" antifreeze. I would assume not... which means the whole system is now contaminated. And... full or half system?

Or... maybe there's something special that a previous owner did...

Sea Flush is great. If you get the snorkel attachment makes winterizing everything a breeze. Watch the videos on line, they are 100% accurate. Admiral and I did both 496s, genny and AC in hour and 15 minutes. Quick and easy.

I second the Seaflush ...although I fabricated my own snorkel attachment.

I was wrong...he didn't use a tank to fill fluid. He used the blue valve he said.
