I am getting depressed already reading about all you Northern Hemisphere guys getting your boats out of storage and hitting the water. I just spent today packing mine away and cramming it into the garage for winter.

We only got the boat at the end of February so summer has been way too short :smt089

The water in the local lake has been cooling down fast and the kids (and myself) are now coming out blue - even with wet suits. Time to put the water toys away and get the snow toys ready.

I work for a ski resort so the next few months are our busy period with time for work and not much else

Looking forward to next spring already!

Cheers

Hey Mate

Melbourne is not far off, but we will still try to get out over winter to cruise Port Phillip Bay. We take a picknick and travel through the city on the Yara river on a sunny day. Even with the sun shining it is still about 10 degrees mid day???

Enjoy the snow, we will be heading to either Falls Creek or Mt Baw Baw the winter depending on the snow.

Cheers

Sorry mate!!

Melbourne is a hard place to live.....

If I really feel like it I can go watersking in the morning on the coast, and 3 hours later be snow sking in the hills.

But then the water is a little cool for the kids so we go to the snow instead..... Ah Choices, I love Melbourne!

Mate, my sentiments exactly. We'll probably head to Mt Buffalo as I have a pair of 5-year olds and they just love the tubing and tobogganing.

AND as soon as I decide which sodding boat I want to buy we'll get some time on the bay and the Yarra too.

It's only 2 hours down to the coast from here (Merimbula) but over winter I work a 6 day week. So no time to get the boat out. Fortunately my job description states that I have be get out to ski and my company transport is either a 4wd or snowmobile.

We are close to the lake so at is only 10 minutes from hooking up the trailer to being on the water. In summer this means that there is time to go for a water ski after work and if you are really keen you can get on the water before work.

Like you it is possible to get out for surf or a snow ski in the one day!

Cheers
