OK. I give.
Taylor Made apparently has discontinued making the windshield vent gasket for the 1998 400 DA. I have not had success in coming up with a recommendation. I am open to input if anyone has hd this issue and figured out how to resolve it. Thanks.

I had an issue with my windshield while under warranty. Because mine is the last of the model series, they didn't have the parts in stock and had to make them as a special run for me. I don't know if they do that for something like this, and it'll probably be expensive. But you can ask. On the other hand, I think they will sell the gasket material by the linear foot. You'd have to cut and glue it, but... better than nothing.

Taylor custom made one for my previous '01 380DA a few years ago. I think it was along the lines of $400...

Searay-parts.com has a section for windshield seals and gaskets. Maybe they have what you need.

I believe Dancin Dave was able to order one thru Sea Ray (diff model boat) by ordering through Frank Websters marina in Panama City FL. Your results may vary, but worth a call.

Pairadocs, good luck in the search. Could you post a picture of what you are talking about? If it is the piece I think it is, I found two threads on here that talk about a replacement foam insert with a 3m tape back that you cut to fit.

I contacted my local Sea Ray dealer and they contacted Taylor who fabricated a replacement. It took about 6 weeks and $250.

Is this what you had made? I've got such big gaps in mine it lets in buckets of water.

Yes ...it was an easy reinstall to get that arrow back in the groove and a little silicone

very cool.

i'm assuming that reduced the amount of water that runs down the inside of your windshield frame? did they just send you a length of it, or was it a rectangle they pre mitred and glued together? i'll call my local dealer tomorrow and see if they can source it. if you have any other details (e.g. part numbers, contact numbers, et cetera), could you pass them along?

Unfortunately I just called up Colony Marine, MI (Sea Ray Dealer) told them what I was looking for and they called me back with a price and delivery. I know they had to call Taylor to check availability. So I don't have a part number.
Taylor fabricated it, mitered the corners and glued it. So yes it came as a rectangle. My gasket wasn't as bad as yours but I was still getting in water and it solved the problem completely.
Sorry I couldn't be more help

all great information. thanks!

Just an update...

Replaced the gasket and for the most part, there's a lot less water coming in!

But! Still leaks around the hinges. The plastic "nubbies" that attach to the vent window seem to interfere with the gasket not allowing it to seal properly.

Anyone else have this issue?

I am having trouble identifying the part number for Taylor made gasket. It is the same cross section as yours.
Did you ever get a replacement?

Yeah. It was a perfect match for the most part. My dealer was able to source it. They had to call Taylor Made directly to get price and availability.

Did you adhesive or something else to secure it to the frame? If so what was it or what would you recommend? I’m thinking of just buying a length of it fabricating my own.
