My windshield frame has what appears to be foam covering the screws that fasten the windshield to the boat. I'm not sure if this is a PO replacement or what came factory with the boat. It's starting to degrade and looks horrible.

An older thread, see post #7, led me to this part number 8349030:
    http://www.clubsearay.com/index.php?threads/taylor-made-windshield-screw-cover-gasket.61000/

I found this link to Flounder Pounder:
    http://www.searay-parts.com/Sea-Ray-Windshield-Screw-Cover-Trim-8349030-p/trim-8349030.htm

Can anyone confirm that this is what they used?

For 5 bucks you could buy a piece and try it out. Nothing really lost if it's the wrong part.

That is EPDM weather and UV resistant closed cell foam and was original with the boat. You can get the exact same product from McMaster-Carr except the MMC product has an adhesive back and a fraction of the marine product cost. To install cut long as it shrinks over time then wet it with a soap and water solution and install it in the groove. The adhesive will not stick to anything when wet with a soap solution.

I got my replacement vinyl windshield screw covers from flounder pounder.
I’d suggest getting samples as my windshield and side windows were different sizes

    Thanks for all your ideas.

Thanks, just sent Taylor Made an email asking which one to use, 8349030 or the 8349040. I'm assuming the 8349040 is for the stainless window frame, which mine is not. FP has both so I'll go that route and save the $50

I asked for a sample of each, great idea.

I thought about sourcing the foam as it seems a much cheaper option but I like the look of the smooth vinyl much better.

I went the taylormade route as well. Called searay to get windshield information, who then directed me to taylor made armed with the specs they needed. It definitely wasn't cheap but I knew it would be the right product and didn't have to mess around. I believe it was around $150 shipped for our 290.

Here are the pics, you can see the old stuff on the front windshield still. Looks way nicer and stopped all the leaks I had coming in through the screw holes and running into the cockpit

That's exactly what I'm looking for, what was your part number, 8349030 or the 8349040? Was it the same all around the frame or did you need two different types?

My wife laughed at me but I really thought it made the boat look better. Cut it long and tuck the excess behind the vertical A pillars, a few threads I read says it shrinks over time. I haven't experienced that being up north but for you being in the florida heat you may. There's lots of room to leave a couple inches hidden in the channel

That's so ironic because the Admiral said I should replace it because it would look so much nicer compared to the foam, which had wax stains and a bunch of bird poop in the nooks and crannies.

How did you confirm with Sea Ray? Local dealer? Website? I am in the same exact situation with my 1994 280. Thanks for your help.

Call SeaRay or a local dealer with your Hull ID#, they'll be able to get you the part number for your windshield.

Well, this has been quite the journey for me with all this windshield stuff. I contacted my local dealer who was absolutely stumped over my boat. He actually NEVER heard of an SR Series Sea Ray (Sun Runner). And, he could not find any information on the boat so he directed me to the Sea Ray help desk in TN. After speaking with Michelle initially, it took a couple days for her to research everything and possibly retrieve a windshield part number for me. Well, after a couple days of searching she found that there are no archived records for this boat because it was manufactured in Cork, Ireland and even the Sea Ray archives do not list any part numbers for this series boat.

I have attached a drawing of mine with dimensions of the base of my Taylor Clear Curve windshield. If anyone here can tell me if their base was close, or the exact same as this and what your solution was (i.e. screw cover part number), that would be fantastic. Thanks for anyone help on this.
