I have a 86 Sundancer 270. ALL of the seals around the windows need replaced. I have looked and cant find the ones that fit the slider windows. Anyone have a clue where I can find them, if at all? Then, how to replace them...ugh....

Taylor systems,blood,sweat and beers.

http://www.crlaurence.com/default.aspx They have extensive data online but you may have to go to one of their locations with a small sample in hand.

They may also refuse to sell to anyone without a contractors license, so if you can show up with a # you should be good to go.

They sold to me with my electrical license which of course has nothing to do with glass.

If you are willing to put in the effort the cost will probably be 90% lower than any boating source

Its called flocking.

I have the same issues. And it seems what was used originally varied. Soon one of my next projects to focus on. I had to throw duck tape on my window tracks to make it threw the winter. Have decided I will rebeded the entire window frames and all. My biggest fear is finding proper replacement gaskets and such!

keep us posted
Mike

Call Taylor, I got an exact replacement for my boat from them. Its expensive, but it fits right in and you don't need to remove the plexiglass panels to do the job. Mine was so brittle and hard from age that I had to use as screwdriver and hammer to break pieces of it out, about as hard as a beer pretzel. New stuff was supple and soft, just slid it into place and tucked it in with a small scewdriver. Search my user name and you'll find my posts when I did mine a few years ago.

Thanks for all the replies. I will call Taylor Made and hopefully they will still have some "Flocking"! That word kills me! lol....I see alot about the price, but yet nobody has posted it....So who wants to give it up before I call them????? And, one more thing. Just to make sure, this is the rubber channel that the windows fit into, and slide on correct???

The bad part is they have a $25.00 handling fee. I can use some for one of my 300's and would split the fee if you want and order mine at the same time. There may be some others here wanting to jump in on that too. Jim

Yes, flocking is the track the windows slide in. I'm not sure what the price is now but a few years ago when I got mine, it was something like $239 to do my 300DA plus the $25 plus shipping. I know its pricey but it is an exact replacement for the original.

On page 17 of the "Official 300 Weekender/Sundancer thread you can see my write up on the subject.

I've used that before but what you have to do is have another piece below it to bring it up to the proper height. The piece below must also be hollow so the water can run underneath the flocking and drain out the holes.

I will be at the boat tomorrow and measure but the bottom one in that link is hollow in the bottom. We aren't talking a few bucks differences in price it's a lot difference. I've yet to find anyone charging that much for "flocking". I think that's what they are doing "flocking us".
Did the 7/16" fit or is it the 1/2" no spec on the Taylor Made Products does not post any specs.
