Windline Under Platform Ladder

I just picked up a lightly used Windline Under Platform Telescoping Ladder. I only got the one bracket with it and am curious ow this thing mounts. I can see that the tubes slide into the bracket and the pin through the tube acts as a stop, but is this all that holds it in place? Looks to me like it would just be hanging with no front to back stability.

Anyone have one of these on their boats? Do these work very well?

I intend to replace the small oem 2 step ladder with this longer 3 step which will also unclutter the platform. Anyone have pics of theirs mounted

Looks like it originaly came with a quick lock strap,and a seperate hardware kit is needed for the installation.
