I have a 2006 sun dancer 260. What are the dimensions of the anchor locker?
I'm looking to add a windless. How difficult is this to do yourself or cost to have it done?
The one offered in 2006 was a Loran marlin but thats been discontinued. Any recommendations?

If your boat is not pre-wired for it, the job is substantial to run heavy gauge wire from the batteries up to the bow. If you have an easy path for that, then it is more a mechanical installation figuring out how to mount it, anchor it sufficiently, etc. Figure $2000 if you do it yourself.

I added one to my 260DA, the anchor locker is plenty deep enough for a vertical windlass. Your anchor locker is pretty much the same size. As mentioned above, it's a very time consuming job. It is HIGHLY unlikely that your boat is NOT pre-wired. Some of them used to be pre-wired, but that was a number of years before yours.

I added a Lewmar V700 to my 06 260. It was not pre-wired and the existing hole was off center so I had a fiberglass shop plug and glass the old hole at a boat buck and then I had to fish the wires back to the batteries. I was able to get a fish tape down the starboard side behind the head really easily.
The whole thing including the fiberglass work, windlass, and rode was right at $2000.00 just as paulswagelock said, and that was doing the install myself.
It sure is nice to have though.
