Hi folks, I was on the water the other day and I dropped my quick windlass anchor down, when I was bringing it up the rope got stock and I guess I was pressing down the bottom while it was stock. I open the knot manually and put the anchor back. Now anchor won’t move and all I hear is the clinking sound from the solenoid when I press the bottom. You guys think the motor is bad?

Did you get it fixed? There may be a reset button on the motor. Or loose connection on solenoid. A voltage meter will diagnose the solenoid or motor if its getting current. Also, check the breaker swiktch in the bilge, it may have tripped and could be clicking once.

Dump question but is the tangle removed and line free. There is clutch on our anchor and when we get anchor stuck it will click until we get it free. There should be a tension on the clutch you can adjust.

No I haven’t, found a new motor on eBay for $300 So I think I might go that route.
